So I'm training one day and I remove the armor from my flak jacket because I wanted to see it and that's when I discovered it's dark dark secret.

Is that armour plate made of metal or ceramic?

The newer ones are made of ceramic, hence the handle with care warning, it can shatter if dropped the "right" way

if i remember correctly at one time the us troops were ordered to turn in privetly purchased body armor but when i see this it makes me wounder why they would give such an order when the body armor given out is so fragile.
